Man Raps Pipeline Work

To the Editor,

In April 2015, Precision Pipeline and Momentum Pipeline started the proceedings of laying a pipeline on US Route 33W. Dirt was stacked up next to my property and a drain was cut to run on my property. On July 17 the rain water and mud flooded my yard, driveway and building foundation. Mud and water went over my walk and ran under my house. I called the DEP and they did nothing. I also called the Lewis County Commission and left a message. Our local paper published that the LC Commission was neutral on the pipeline.

I think our commission is more interested in donations to the school, fire department and the sheriff’s department, and lets the taxpayers go to ____. When the pipeline was in the ground and the ditch was back filled, they had aimed 11 ditches toward my property and two neighbors’ property also. I had to sell my outbuilding, put stone on my driveway and build a walk to my house. The house is molding due to water running under it every time it rains. The property, in this shape, is not worth paying the taxes on it. If the pipeline is not put together any better than their previous work, we are in for a Big Bang. Ten months have passed, 60 times it has flooded and no one seems to care. The politicians act like they are answering to the pipeline company instead of the taxpayers. Donations get them special treatment. They get to run their 4-wheelers up and down highway 33. They must have special arrangements to stay above the law.

Upshur County Commissioners are welcome to come and see the damages at 1846 US HWY 33W, Weston, WV. We have 36” pipeline, yours will be 42”. You are welcome to come and see it and form your own opinion. I can stand on my front porch and count seven slips. They also damaged the highway. The DOH let them repair it with a hump bump speed bump. When you lease or sell right away [sic], have your contract lawyers do it your way. Protect yourself and protect your neighbors.

P.S. remember your politicians at election time. The bullies must go.
