A Visit to Doddridge County, WV
November 6, a visit from researchers at Princeton University looking for fugitive gas emissions. Our team took them around Doddridge, Lewis, Upshur, and Harrison Counties. They found a lot.
The Bevins family and former gasfield workers came to Buckhannon on November 5 for a free showing of the film Gaswork, by Josh Fox. The film features the story of CJ Bevins, a Buckhannon native, who was killed on a gas rig in New York state. Soon afterward, CJ's sister, Charlotte, went campaigning for "CJ's Law" and got Senator Tony Avella (NY) to sponsor it. It died in the legislature, but soon afterward, fracking was banned in New York State. Perhaps West Virginia should take a lesson.
